Moving on

Firstly I have to say sorry as there will be no photos tonight. We are packed up ready to catch a flight to Siem Reap tomorrow.
But do not forget that for the most part the images that you see here will not be in the exhibition so it will be exciting to see all the other images on the fundraising night.
WE returned today form an overnight Farmstay which was beautiful. Set in tree houses no power only a battery for fans, in the middle of a village we were able to see how they lived and all the proceeds from our stay go to support the local workers - from the tuk tuk and oxcart drivers to the garden of the grounds and the children performing a traditional dance for us.
The highlight is certainly the different form of transport that wee are moving around in. It was Jan and my first motorbike experience and ox-cart for all of us. The sciatic nerve is playing up a bit from all the bumping around but most enjoyable.
About fifty kids ran from the village to follow us in our horse drawn cart to the dry river beds where they keep there long boats for fishing.
There have been many first this week including using a squat toilet over the weekend.
The light House Orphanage today was delightful with two young girls having a wonderful conversation with me. Size is a big thing when I see the children, thinking their age is much younger due to size. Nara was 12 and I told her my daugther was that age and she asked was she big as all Australian and Canadian children are so much bigger than her. It is true - due to malnutrition and their parents working so hard and being so small when giving birth etc.
But she had this gorgeous smile on her. Every time I tried to take a photo though she raised her fingers in the peace sign (westernised) - something I am finding often and making it difficult to take natural shots.
Tomorrow hopefully I will have access in Siem Reap.
